The parishioners of Ponnani informed their vicar Rev. Fr. Paul Payyappilly that it is necessary to begin a convent and an English Medium school in that locality. They understood that it is a place where the number of Christians were less and a convent is necessary to keep the church and its belongings neatly and properly. They convinced their desire to Rt. Rev. Mar Joseph Kundukulam and he wholeheartedly supported their desire and requested Rev. Sr. Felicita, Provincial Superior, to begin a convent there. Thus FCC superiors decided to start a mission station at Ponnani where the Muslims play an important role. A house near the church was got ready for the sisters and on 22nd Dec. 1974 Mar Joseph Kundukulam Bishop of Thrissur blessed the convent in the name of Vijaya Matha.

The sisters are involving in various parish activities such as sacristarian, faith formation, house visiting etc.

The English Medium school which we started along with Vijaya Matha convent raised in to the position of a high school later and on 31st  Aug 2010  it became a higher secondary school.

Clare home Homoeo clinic was established in the year 1982 and now it is a centre of relief for the people who are coming there for treatment.
