To begin an English medium school was   a dream of the CMI Devamatha Province at the initial stage of the Amala Cancer Hospital. It was included in the master plan of the hospital itself. When they invited  FCC sisters to begin that venture, The Provincial Superior Rev. Sr. Romuald and Councillors thought about it and shouldered the responsibility to start the school. On  29th Sept. 1980 , Rev. Fr. Gabriel CMI ,Director of Amala Hospital laid the foundation stone for Mary Rani Convent and school. The formal inauguration of the convent and school was done by Rt. Rev. Dr Joseph Kundukulam on 3rd May   1982. The sisters contributed their prayers and activities both in hospital ministry and education ministry.  The silver jubilee of the school and convent was   celebrated in 2006 Jan and Feb 3rd respectively. Today, it has become a guiding star and shines its brightly its surroundings.
